Terms of Service

These terms govern lapsight.app and the ranked fee-lapse feed. By using the site or paying for a subscription you agree to them. If you buy for a company, you confirm you can bind that company.

The service

Lapsight analyses public USPTO records to find US utility patents whose maintenance-fee events show expiration for non-payment, scores them, and emails identifying data (number, title, assignee, date, CPC, score, follow-on tier). We do not send invention ideas. Studio and Atlas add-ons are the same class of identifying analysis at greater depth. Nothing we send is legal, tax, or investment advice, and using Lapsight does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Patent status risk

“Expired” is a data classification as of the USPTO publication date. It can be wrong or later reversed (revival petitions, continuations, foreign counterparts, term adjustment, reporting lag). You must verify freedom to operate with licensed counsel before any commercial step.

Accounts and acceptable use

Keep credentials confidential. Do not scrape the site, resell the feed outside your organisation without written consent, or present Lapsight output as a legal opinion.

Fees

Prices are USD. Stripe processes cards. Subscriptions renew until you cancel. Cancel any time, including via the email link; access continues through the paid period. See the Refund Policy. You are responsible for taxes Stripe does not collect.

Intellectual property

Scoring, copy, and software are ours. Underlying patents are public records. We grant a non-exclusive internal-use licence to the feed you receive. We do not claim the lapsed subject matter.

Warranty and liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent Spanish and EU law allow, we exclude implied warranties and indirect losses. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, except for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be limited.

Law

Spanish law governs, excluding conflict rules. Courts of Barcelona have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory EU consumer venue rules if a court finds you are a consumer (the service is offered for professional use).
